    1. 80% is reserved for general category. It includes not only forward castes, but even merited OBCs & SC/STs. Don't mislead.

    1. How is reservation an injustice to forward community? Forward communities who are less than 30% are taking away 50% seats in the name of General category plus the unfilled reserved seats. This has been going on since reservation in India came into existence. So Forward castes have been enjoying more than 60% reservation for decades in India.

    2. Shouldn't reservation be applied on the basis of population? Only then Social Justice (representation of all communities in the echelons of power) will be achieved, isn't it?

  3. I agree. The politicians are trying to appease certain communities as they are their vote bank. In a developed state like Kerala, there is not much difference in the standard of living of people.

    2. We need a caste based census and data of how each caste is represented in various sectors relative to its population.

    1. If you don't know about the reservation rules keep your mouth shut .. 50% of the seats are not reserved for general !! These are open competition seats and can be availed by any community!!

  5. Brother, that's is on paper. But, in reality, even reserved seats are not getting filled by SC ST and OBC candidates. Hence, general category goes beyond 50%. That's the sad truth.
